Creating Rituals, Creating Joy in the Everyday

We created the Balance Bound Planner while feeling overwhelmed with the responsibilities of business ownership and motherhood, and needing a better way to ensure that self-care was incorporated into each day.

Creating and holding onto rituals has been a HUGE part of my journey to better self-care.

Rituals can be a wonderful way to find joy in the everyday, create a sense of peace and calm (especially during difficult times), and set aside time for yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of life. Pairing a ritual you look forward to with an undesirable but necessary task — like listening to a favorite podcast, musician, or audiobook while folding laundry — is also a great way to make the mundane a bit more enjoyable.

Right now in particular, we’re in the midst of a tumultuous US Presidential election, a fight for civil rights, and the 8th month of a seemingly never-ending pandemic. Our collective mental health is suffering.

Self-care rituals are more important than ever as we await the final election results, continue the fight for equity and civil rights, consider what the next several months of the pandemic will look like, and many face financial hardships, health crises, and threats to their safety.

I have already shared ideas for morning rituals, evening rituals, and ways to find happiness in times of uncertainty, but sometimes it’s hard to find a starting point. If you are struggling right now and looking to incorporate new rituals to get through each day, we’ve created a worksheet to help you identify the rituals you’d like to adopt and the best times to incorporate them.

Enter your name and email address below to download your free printable.

After you submit your info, a link to download the printable worksheet will appear in the space below.

Once you have identified your rituals, you can add them to the SELF section of your Balance Bound Planner or undated notepad to hold yourself accountable for following through!
