Frequently asked questions

shipping details:

How do pre-orders work?

Our e-commerce platform does not allow delayed charges for pre-orders; that means customers will be charged for ALL items and orders at checkout. Orders including pre-ordered 2025 planners will begin shipping in early November. To receive any in-stock items sooner, please place a separate order for those items.

You will receive an email with tracking details when your order ships.

When will my order ship?

Orders of all in-stock items ship within 2-3 business days from our Pennsylvania headquarters or Texas fulfillment partners, unless otherwise noted.

You’ll receive a shipping notification and tracking number when we create a shipping label. (Check your junk or spam inbox if you’re expecting a shipping notification from us but haven’t seen it yet!)

when will my package arrive to me?

Due to high package volume with many shipping carriers, shipping can sometimes take a little longer than originally estimated. If you need a guaranteed delivery date for an in-stock item (taking our 2-3 day shipping turnaround into account), please choose the UPS option that will meet your deadline. Flat rate and USPS delivery estimates are not guaranteed and may take longer.

What if my package doesn’t arrive by the estimated delivery date?

Delivery dates are largely out of our control once we hand your package over to the shipper. Please check the tracking details (emailed to you when your order shipped) to follow its progress; if the package appears to be lost or at a standstill after several days, please email your order number to brooke@balancebound.co and we’ll take a closer look for you.

If you ordered at a particularly high-volume time, such as Black Friday weekend or the week before Christmas, please allow extra time for delivery.

If your order contains a gift that won’t arrive in time, we’ve created a PDF download for you to gift to your recipient in the meantime, letting them know that their planner is absolutely on its way!

Why do you charge for shipping?

We get it: we love free shipping when it comes to big retailers like Amazon, too — but alas, we’re a small business, and we simply can’t offer free shipping for small orders while keeping our business running. (In some instances, we take a small loss on shipping costs to be able to offer a reasonable shipping rate to our customers.) We do, however, offer flat-rate domestic shipping within the US for $5.95, and free USPS shipping within the US for all orders over $125.

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, we only ship within the US and Canada. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates — we are working on finding reasonable international shipping rates and solutions. If you live outside of the US or Canada and would like to place a large order that would justify a higher shipping cost, please contact us and we’ll do our very best to accommodate you.

WHY DIDN’T MY WHOLE ORDER ARRIVE TOGETHER?

Print On Demand items (from the Forever35 x Balance Bound collection) ship from our print partners, located throughout the US; all other stationery items ship from our headquarters in Pennsylvania or our fulfillment partners in Texas. This means that orders including both Print On Demand (POD) items and stationery items will result in multiple shipments from different locations and with different delivery estimates/tracking details. This will not affect your shipping fee.

ALL OTHER QUESTIONS:

Do you offer bulk discounts?

Yes! Balance Bound Planners make great gifts for teams. If you order 5 or more, a 10% discount plus free USPS shipping will be automatically applied at checkout. Order 10 or more and receive 15% off plus free USPS shipping at checkout. If you need help placing a large order, please contact us.

What is different about this planner compared to other planners?

The Balance Bound™ Planner divides each day into four signature sections — work, self, others, and home — so you can create order, set boundaries, and prioritize self-care. Our dated weekly format is like the Goldilocks of planners with the perfect amount of space: a full spread for Monday through Friday; and a second spread that includes Saturday and Sunday, a dedicated area for reminders and lists, and a full page for notes, journaling, or whatever best suits you. You can read about all the other features of all formats here!

How sturdy are the covers?

The covers are all hardcover: paper (for the printed designs) or linen book cloth (for the solid colored options) wrapped around a sturdy chip board.

Does the book bound version lay flat?

The book bound version is Smyth sewn, a method of book binding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using thread. It lays open very nicely thanks to the sewn (not glued) binding style. We wrote a bit more about that on the blog.

Do all of the planners have monthly tabs?

Only the dated wire bound planners have monthly tabs. The book bound planners do not have tabs but come with a satin ribbon marker so you can always keep track of the current week in your planner, and we sell monthly tab stickers that you can add-on, if you’d like.

What happens if my order arrives damaged?

Please take photos of both the damaged product(s) and the exterior packaging, and email them, along with your order number, to brooke@balancebound.co. We will provide a replacement (and the photos will allow us to file a claim with the USPS).

Do you accept returns?

Unless your order arrives damaged (see above), we do not accept returns. All sales are final.

Where are your products made?

Our planners are made in China, as are our journals and small snap-in bookmarks. All notepads, and most of our Print on Demand items are made in the US. Our adhesive vinyl pockets, the only product currently sourced from another vendor, are made in China.
